It's the weekend again and I can't believe it. As you get older
the days seem to fly past ever more quickly.
I know what you're thinking: 'At Gary's age they must be positively zooming past'.
Yeah, it's just like one of those cliched calendar shots in an old movie... Y'know,
where the pages just fall off. I wake up each morning to find the bedroom floor
covered in bits of paper.
But it's true: remember when you were a kid and every school day seemed to last
a week? Holidays never seemed to come, but when the summer vacation did finally
arrive (we got six weeks here in England) it seemed to last about three years
:-)
Now I don't seem to have time to fit in all the things I want to do -- including
this website.
However, I have managed to add a couple, of new features this week. A page about
Manchester where I live and a welcome message in Real Audio format. So now you
can hear my voice, should you have the urge to do so :-)
What
else has happened lately? Well I tried to adopt a cat from the RSPCA which, initially,
said that me living in a an apartment wouldn't be a problem. However, the local
person they put me in touch with, made me feel like I was some kind of animal
abuser for even thinking that I could have a cat where I live.
I
know an apartment isn't ideal for a cat. But when there are animals being put
down for lack of a loving home, you would think that these people would be a little
less fanatical. I have had three cats in the past (shown in the photos here),
so I know exactly what is involved in looking after one.
Now what I will do, if I decide to go ahead, is forget about the animal welfare
organisations and get a cat through an ad or from a pet shop!
