Had a good journey home. But I arrived back to discover
that the power had gone off and my freezer had defrosted!
I suspected as much when I couldn't pick up my telephone messages from Thursday
onwards. Fortunately, I only lost about £20 worth of food. Cleaning out
the freezer and getting rid of the smell was worse!
The weather in Manchester was even better than where I was -- scorching by all
accounts. In a way it's nice to get back to the hustle and bustle of the city,
but I expect I'll be ready to get away from it all again seven or eight weeks
from now!
