I had a real struggle just then trying to work out which day of the week it is.
It's probably something to do with the fact that Christmas follows a weekend this
year, plus the fact that I began to wind down for the holiday at the beginning
of this week.
Then again, it could be in line with that new research that has found definite
proof that the brain begins to deteriorate after the age of 40 ;-)
Intelligence remains the same, but apparently parts of the brain that are unused
begin to go down. No, I'm not there (40) just yet, but getting towards it. Eeek.
I'm staying at home for Christmas -- the first time I'll have spent Christmas
Day by myself. But I'm looking forward to it. It's by choice and something I've
always wanted to do.
I was invited for a family Christmas but didn't fancy travelling down south. Particularly
with all the problems there are currently with floods and the railways here in
the UK. Rail tickets are now virtually sold out.
Instead I'm going to visit mum and dad and my sister and her husband sometime
in 2001, when I can travel there in comfort and we can go out and do some things.
