Just over a year ago, for the first time ever, I got a cold-sore on my lip. I
must've kissed a guy who had one and I caught it from him.
This is not exactly uncommon. Cold sores are caused by a virus and around one
third of all Americans get them.
But it pisses me off because I didn't until then... And, currently, I get one
on average about every six weeks and it lasts for about a week.
There's no cure and really no treatment that will make the blister go away. The
best you can hope for is to reduce the time you have it down to about five days.
The things that bring it on: chocolate, stress, sunlight, wind, spicy food, rainy
days. Ha -- my life in general :-)
I'm telling you this in case you don't know... If you can help it, you DON'T want
to get a cold-sore.
They are VERY infectious when the blister is visible. So, if someone has a blister
on their mouth, don't kiss or share cups or towels and don't let them suck your
dick either, because you can get one there too.
At least I'm lucky in that respect ;-)
