They talk about the 'dot-com bubble' bursting... I wonder if the novelty of webcams
is wearing off too?
Sean Patrick -- who was one of the original gay webcammers -- recently closed
his site and I hear that hits on another famous site have fallen to just a fraction
of what they were. It's a fact -- take a month or two out and the hit count goes
into freefall :-)
I'm sure that some cam guys have become disillusioned because they looked on their
site mainly as a way to make money or as a launchpad to some kind of career and
it hasn't happened.
It's interesting to compare this to Big Brother, the TV equivalent, where most
of the 'stars' have also faded back into obscurity after just six months.
Personally, I think I have quite a dull life at the moment. However, I feel pretty
happy and I only mention it because it surprises me that 250 people turn up here
each day to watch me sit at the PC, cook and take a bath :-)
Of course, if I did get a more interesting life, I would certainly be on the webcam
less often. Anyway, a lot of people like things that are predictable!
