Very
impressed with this Canon S200 printer that I bought on Monday. Amazing technology
at such a low price. The quality of the printing even on ordinary paper took my
breath away...
My mum started chemotherapy recently and I've been sending her photos and letters
to help keep up her spirits (she has a positive attitude already and as a former
nurse knows how important that is).
I'd been printing in mono and really only bought this printer so I can send
stuff in colour instead. Up to now I've never had much interest in printing out
my photos, though I can see how I could get into it! Anyway, it will be useful
for my new photo work too.
Well, my neighbour was impressed too and asked if I'd go to the same shop with
her so she could buy one. So off we went...
The weather was absolutely baking hot as we walked to Rusholme. We stopped
off at the Veggie cafe, which E hadn't been to before. Had a latte each and food.
A spinach slice and salad for her and 'Cajun style' vegetable pasty and salad
for me. She was impressed. We sat in the window and watched the busy street. There
are always hot men walking past there -- it's a big student area and close to
several hospitals.
Then onto the shop... One thing I was surprised about is that Canon don't supply
the necessary USB cable in the box. Nor is it a standard USB cable -- it has a
mini plug on the printer end. Luckily the cable that came with my Canon scanner
also works with the printer. But I think there'll be some disappointed people
who get home with their new printer and find they don't have the cable.
I mentioned this at the shop and the guy immediately offered to give up both
a free cable. What great service! They do really cheap compatible cartridges too,
for just a couple of pounds.
