Good Friday holiday... The first thing I noticed when I woke was a burning smell
and sickly-yellow sunlight falling on the living room floor. A very odd colour
and I don't think I've seen anything quite like it. It was almost as though it
was the end of the world. It reminded me of the partial eclipse a couple of years
ago. My neighbour had noticed too.
Later I heard that moorland fires have been burning in Derbyshire.  Also
that a place near Oldham, that stored hundreds of old fridges, had caught fire
yesterday sending 'toxic' (nice!) clouds of smoke hundreds of feet into the air.
So these conditions were some combination of those two things plus the traffic
pollution that I noticed yesterday...
I fitted the ceiling fan in the bedroom. What an awful job to do... It took
me ages. But now it's up I love it!
In the evening I went over to ASDA with my neighbour and we bought some plants
for our balconies.
