Peter, an old friend from Newcastle, came to Manchester for the day. He's now
aged in his '70's. Normally I never think about how old or young a person is.
I only mention it because he really is remarkable for his age.
We went for lunch -- mushroom omlette. Then we looked
around Manchester, ending up at the Museum of Science
and Industry. The old vehicles and steam engines were
fun but, in many areas there were endless walls with
text and pictures on them and very few 'exhibits'. Honestly,
the museum in Iraq had more exhibits AFTER it had been
looted...
I'm sure museums were never this dull when I was a kid. Am I missing something
here? Some modern thinking on how museums should be?
I asked Peter if he was worried that they might keep him in there... ;-)
