I thought I'd show you the scenery around here. This is the view from the bathroom
window.
I always wanted an Action Men when I was a kid (hmmmm, come to think of it, I
STILL want one, but not a doll). Anyway, one day a few years back I was in Woolworths
and I bought myself one. I'm glad I did, as the current version isn't half as
cute. I keep imagining a 6ft tall live version of this knocking on my door!
I'm just a sucker for a man in army uniform.
I've realised that if I keep on putting this many pictures in the diary each day
I'll soon run out of server space...
All this country air is tiring me out. Or maybe it's because I've been out pruning
bushes and trees and sawing logs the last two afternoons?
Not everything about the country agrees with me and I think the log fire is one
of the things that doesn't. My eyes have been feeling very tired (you can see
in the pictures) and it's due to the smoke I reckon.
Someone I was talking with in chat on Thursday reckons that the problem with Internet
Explorer not updating the Javacam page is due to IE not implementing Java fully.
Apparently it can be fixed by downloading Java Update 3189 from Microsoft.
The update is about 6 Mb. I haven't had time to try it yet.
My collection of videos is in the box room, which is 44 inches wide! There are
1150 tapes on these two sets of shelves -- in an area of under six square feet.
I reckon that's a pretty good use of space.
I have a total of around 1600 including VHS, S-VHS, Betamax (a handful) U-matic
(even less) and camcorder tapes. The oldest is from 1980. The constant temperature
is good for them. I've noticed deterioration in any that I keep in rooms which
have central heating. Are you bored yet? A work colleague once said he thought
I had a 'tape habit'.
I don't usually watch a lot of TV. But I generally end each day while here by
getting into bed and watching a movie. Last night it was 'Maurice'.
Mmmm... this is the film where the humpy young under-gamekeeper climbs in through
Maurice's bedroom window in the middle of night and gives him a good seeing to.
Well, there are certainly some hunky farm boys around here and I live in hope
(a few interesting things have happened in the past). But it's just too
cold to leave the window open at this time of year...
