Great weather today, sunny and warm with temperatures
up around 70 degrees. So I sat out on the balcony writing my diary.
That's the much more personal written diary that I would never dare put on here.
I'd probably lose a few friends if I did and, besides, you know what we British
are like for not showing our feelings too much :-)
I'm a hypocrite in some respects. Lately I've been working on putting our family
history on the web and I was bugged because my dad, who wrote it all up for me,
insisted on editing out various details. Including his date of birth! But I guess
everyone has their own limits.
One interesting thing that came out, is the fact that my great great grandfather
was born in America. I've been fantasising that it might entitle me to citizenship.
But there's no paperwork around from those days...
In one way I admire the honesty of people like Sam Stern whose website I discovered this week (FOOTNOTE: no longer online). He documents his fledgling career in the home-made porn production industry in L.A.
On the other hand, I've seen it turn in on people. They end up with stalkers and
hateful comments on their message board, from visitors who perhaps know just a
little too much about them and their circumstances.
