Life is full of new experiences... Sometimes not such good ones. I had a new experience in the early hours of this morning and that was having to call a doctor
at 5am.
It was my asthma, which normally is very mild and only a problem when I get a
cold. But, because I got unusually stressed by work deadlines this week, I began
to get symptoms that I've never had before.
I did wonder if I was going to have a heart attack. Luckily I knew to try and stay calm. I used my inhaler which I discovered was out of date and which didn't seem to work.
By 4am I was so concerned that I called NHSDirect.
After a chat with a helpful woman there, she decided it couldn't be left until the
morning and got a local doctor to call me.
He was 17 miles away and, in the end, he didn't come out to me. Though he was
quite prepared to. He identified it as stress-related over the 'phone and we both
felt I would be OK to wait and go to the local health centre first thing. Once
there, blood pressure was exactly right, no chest problems. So it is almost certainly
all due to stress.
I've been stressed lots of times, but never had this before. I guess it's a shock
to me that it can have such a physical effect. And now I have to decide how to
reduce stress in my normally not-exactly-stressful life.
I ordered some film processing chemicals online and they should be here tomorrow.
So should have some new pics over the weekend.
I
took these shots tonight.
I used to be quite skinny when I was 20: 6ft tall and 150lbs. By the time I turned
30 I was 164lbs. Now, almost ten years later, I'm 170lbs.
On the whole I've never felt more healthy and my diet has never been better. I
like the way I am now. Though I sometimes get the inevitable 'you could lose a
few pounds' comments from the 'body-fascist' types. Remember my 'stalker'
a few months back? He made a similar comment which, on top of his other bad behaviour, didn't exactly endear him to me.
I guess when I look at myself now, I think I look like some of the wrestlers that
I used to see on TV, and quite fancy, in my later teen years. Or even like shirtless
William Shatner (Captain Kirk) in the original Star Trek. He always reminded me
of my dad! And now here I am, older than Shatner was when he made that series. Yikes!
Truth is, I've always liked a man with a 'meatier' kind of build. The kind of
guy who has an ass like two melons in a wet brown paper bag. I'm thinking now
of some of those Cadinot porn videos from the early 1980's... Harem
(Sex Bazaar), Les
Minets Sauvage (Tough & Tender), Garcons de Reve. Featuring hunky young
French men with slightly-stocky 'natural' bodies (not a washboard stomach in sight)
but always the most amazing butts :-)
Or, a natural young kind of body is nice. But, some of those angular 'gym-bunny'
types with a lizard stomach, who look like they're half-starved and almost ill.
They seem surprisingly unsexy to me and often, facially, I feel they would look
better with a few extra pounds. Just my opinion...
