You're right! I've been neglecting the site a
bit... No new Photo of the Week for a couple of weeks and not many Journal updates.
There's a lot happening in my life at the moment. Later today we find out whether
my mum will have a hip replacement operation. I never mentioned this on here before,
but she has arthritis and bone cancer, is in pain almost all the time and is finding
it increasingly difficult to walk. The cancer has been stable for quite a while,
so we are hoping the walking difficulties are due to arthritis and that the operation
will help.
My mum is a wonderful, positive-thinking person. When she and dad had a joint
celebration for their 40th wedding anniversary and mum's 70th birthday a couple
of years ago, and everyone was standing up to say how wonderful she was, it made
me realise how much I have always taken her for granted.
To cut waiting times, the British National Health Service has started sending
patients to have operations in hospitals elsewhere in Europe. So I was joking
with mum about her making sure she gets booked into a hospital in the South of
France!
The other thing that has happened lately has been a fall in income from my websites.
The Internet is always changing, and something that makes money, probably won't
do six months later. Earning a living on the Internet is a bit like being the
singing nun who has to land the stricken jumbo jet successfully. But having to
do it every six months...
