I went to Rusholme with Miss Noodle for our usual late afternoon curry at a
restaurant we've been to many times before. However I wasn't impressed with the
quality of the food last time (the meat was tough) and today Miss N found two
cocktail cherries in her chicken dhansak!
One of the ingredients is pineapple, so we came to the conclusion that the
chef had probably used one of those tins of fruit cocktail and the cherries had
slipped in by mistake. There's an Aldi discount store close by, which sells this
type of canned stuff for a few pence!
My lamb balti was OK but, in all, a let down from a restaurant that used to
be good and which has won awards in the past. And especially disappointing when
compared to our terrific meal elsewhere last weekend. I don't think we'll be returning
in the near future...
