Chillin' out on my balcony...
I bought a DVD player. Great value -- just £60 ($90) from Richer Sounds.
It's multiregion and plays MP3s, VCDs and SVCDs. For the last year, instead of
using tape, I've been recording TV programmes onto the PC and putting them onto
disc in VCD and SVCD format.
Wow look! Using the landline AND on the 'net at the same time ;-)
