...earlier pics from today
I'd like your help with an experiment.
There was a programme on Channel 4 last night about people who claim to have recorded
the voices of the dead on tape.
Anyway, this reminded me of a weird experience I had about eight years ago when
I first began experimenting with digital sound recording on computer...
I sampled some sound effects from cartoons into my Amiga, as I wanted to work
out how they'd been created. One was a 'plop' noise from an episode of Scooby
Doo.
I figured it was an ordinary sound that had been speeded up. So I slowed it down
and found that it seemed to be someone saying something. To my surprise, it sounded
like they were saying a name -- and a name that has particular significance for
me! It was a freaky experience.
Here's where you come in. I'd like you to listen to the slowed down sound and
let me know what name you think is being said. I've listened to this far too many
times to be subjective. So I'd like the opinion of some people who haven't heard
it before and who don't already know the name.
I've put the two sounds in my Yahoo Briefcase:

Click on the sounds folder and then on each file to listen. Or you can download
them if you prefer. They are small. Just 10k and 79k and in .wav format.
Send your comments to the address on my contact
page.
When I've had some responses, I'll post the findings on here and give some more
information about the whole thing.
By the way, the named person isn't either famous or dead!
The pics above are some of my favourite webcam shots that I recently put together
for my chat profile on Gaydar.
