We headed off to IKEA at Warrington. The roads were busy as we left Manchester
city centre, so the car crawled along for a while. But this gave us time to admire
the many 'hosts' of daffodils at the side of the road.
Earlier, a man had suspended himself from the Hulme
Arch, in protest against the war in Iraq, thus closing that road for a while.
Which might explain some of the trafic jams.
At IKEA, I bought two floor lamps, three houseplants and some wooden coathangers.
Miss Noodle bought a floor lamp, a bath mat and a salt and pepper set... 'E' bought
a hook-on plant box and a table for her balcony.
Then we had a meal in the restaurant. Normally I wouldn't eat meatballs, as
you you can't be sure what's in them! But I had a craving for them... I do wish
they would put the food onto warm plates though. The food was only just hot enough
by the time we got to the table.
Hmmm, my second moan about bad service at a restaurant this week!
Overall I thought the quality of the merchandise had increased since my last
visit, which was about two years ago. This time I saw quite a few things I liked.
